These are the people in Wisconsin whose lives were taken by domestic and family violence in 2025, listed in chronological order. Each entry is drawn from news coverage, criminal complaints, and court records, and from the End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin 2025 Homicide Report where noted. Deaths of the people who caused harm are listed without their names. January 9, 2025: Richard “Ricky” Sanderson, Age 50, Tomahawk.
Richard “Ricky” Sanderson died at Aspirus Tomahawk Hospital shortly after being driven there with chest injuries from a stabbing at his home. His wife, Michelle Sanderson, 43, was charged with homicide in his death.
Michelle Sanderson initially pleaded not guilty, and a Lincoln County court bound the case over for trial. On September 24, 2026, she pleaded no contest to an amended charge of first-degree reckless injury and to misdemeanor obstructing an officer with a domestic abuse modifier; bail jumping and disorderly conduct counts were dismissed and read in. The February 2027 trial was canceled, and sentencing is set for February 15, 2027.
January 14, 2025: Isamar Valverde-Ponce, Age 27, Sun Prairie.
Isamar Valverde-Ponce, a 27-year-old Sun Prairie woman, was last seen the evening of January 11, 2025, and her family reported her missing the next day. A deputy found her body on January 14 in a field near Portage Road and Highway 19. An autopsy could not determine a cause of death, ruling out hypothermia and finding no obvious anatomical cause. Gerson Blas Noe, with whom she had been in a romantic relationship, was allegedly the last person seen with her, and investigators said his vehicle was in the area where her body was found on the night she disappeared.
Blas Noe was charged with first-degree intentional homicide, giving false information on a missing person, and hiding a corpse. His trial began August 24, 2026. On August 31, the jury convicted him of giving false information about a missing person but could not reach verdicts on the homicide and hiding a corpse counts, and a partial mistrial was declared. A retrial is set to begin May 17, 2027.
January 20, 2025: Michael Meagher, Age 8, Town of Geneva.
Michael Meagher, an 8-year-old boy from La Grange Park, Illinois, was shot at a home near Kale and Lincoln Drive while visiting for the weekend. First responders attempted life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital. Loved ones remembered him as a funny, happy kid who loved soccer.
Steven Merkel, 52, his stepfather, who according to the criminal complaint had recently divorced the boy’s mother, told investigators he had been drinking and showed Michael a stun gun and then a 9mm handgun. Believing the gun would not fire because he had removed the magazine, he pointed it at Michael and pulled the trigger. Merkel pleaded guilty to first-degree reckless homicide on August 27, 2025, and on November 20, 2025 was sentenced to 25 years in prison followed by 10 years of extended supervision.
January 22, 2025: Zaniyah Booker, Age 17, Milwaukee.
Zaniyah Booker, 17, was fatally shot at a home near 28th and Atkinson. She was killed by Jveon Clark, also 17, the father of her child. The handgun used was found in a garbage can less than a block away. Clark told detectives the shooting was accidental, saying the gun discharged while he was trying to take it apart.
Clark turned himself in on February 10, 2025, and was charged with second-degree reckless homicide and possession of a firearm by a felon. He pleaded not guilty and was bound over for trial, with bond set at $40,000.
January 22, 2025: Jocelyn Jimenez, Age 22, Milwaukee.
Jocelyn Jimenez, 22, was fatally shot at the family home near 40th and Cheyenne. Her brother, Gerardo Jimenez-Rico, 32, also shot their parents, who both survived. He later walked into a police station and confessed, telling police the family had bullied him for years and that he became upset after his father criticized him. Jocelyn was engaged and had a young daughter.
Jimenez-Rico pleaded guilty on May 20, 2025 to first-degree reckless homicide, attempted second-degree intentional homicide, and first-degree reckless injury. On June 24, 2025, he was sentenced to 35 years in prison followed by 19 years of extended supervision.
February 7, 2025: Silan Tut, Age 21, Milwaukee.
Silan Tut, a 21-year-old woman from Turkey, was stabbed 12 times in the apartment she shared with her boyfriend, Serkan Akcilad, 24, near 10th and McKinley. According to the criminal complaint, she was killed on or about January 24, 2025: neighbors heard the couple arguing that night, and Akcilad bought bleach the same night. Her body was not discovered until February 27, 2025, after Akcilad walked into a police station to report her death, claiming he had found her already dead. Investigators found extensive blood cleanup hidden under a new rug and evidence the scene had been staged, and Akcilad admitted impersonating Tut in messages to her family in Turkey.
Akcilad was charged with first-degree reckless homicide and held on $1 million bond.
No U.S. obituary located. Turkish media reported that her body was returned to her hometown in Van Province, Turkey, for burial.
February 11, 2025: Donald Mayer, Age 51, Town of Waukesha.
Donald Mayer, 51, was found shot to death in his home on Cedar Hills Drive during a welfare check on February 28, 2025, after his stepson’s school reported the teen absent. His wife, Tatiana Casap, was also found dead, and investigators determined the two had been killed on or about February 11, roughly two weeks earlier. Mayer was shot in the back of the head with a firearm investigators tied to a Smith and Wesson .357 Magnum he owned.
His stepson, Nikita Casap, 17, was arrested in Kansas driving the family’s SUV and was charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse, theft, and identity theft. An FBI investigation found he killed his mother and stepfather as part of a plot to assassinate President Trump. He pleaded guilty to both homicide counts in January 2026, with the remaining counts dismissed and read in, and on March 5, 2026 was sentenced to two life terms without eligibility for release.
February 11, 2025: Tatiana Casap, Age 35, Town of Waukesha.
Tatiana Casap, 35, was found shot to death in her Cedar Hills Drive home on February 28, 2025, alongside her husband, Donald Mayer. She had been shot at least three times, twice in the stomach and once in the neck, roughly two weeks before the bodies were discovered. Her son, Nikita Casap, 17, remained in the home with the bodies before fleeing to Kansas, where he was arrested with the family dog and his parents’ vehicle.
Nikita Casap was charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide along with hiding a corpse, theft, and identity theft charges, and prosecutors said the killings were tied to a plot to assassinate President Trump. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced on March 5, 2026 to two life terms without eligibility for release.
February 17, 2025: Adam Thompson, Age 46, Waukesha.
Adam Thompson died of a brain bleed 16 days after being repeatedly punched in the head by his nephew, Ronnie Kasey Fuentez, then 17, during a February 1, 2025 argument over overnight guests at the Delafield Street apartment they shared. Thompson did not immediately seek medical care but deteriorated over several days, and doctors found bleeding in his brain on February 3. He died on February 17.
The charge against Fuentez was upgraded to felony murder after Thompson’s death. A jury convicted him of felony murder and bail jumping in February 2026, and in April 2026 he was sentenced to four years in prison plus four years of extended supervision, with probation on a bail jumping count.
February 25, 2025: Ann Harrison, Age 66, Franklin.
Ann Harrison, 66, was found shot to death in her home on W. Drake Lane, where she and her husband, Ricky Harrison, 65, had lived for about 30 years. Ricky Harrison was also found dead of a gunshot wound, and the deaths were investigated as a murder-suicide in which he shot his wife before taking his own life. Police said there was no threat to the public.
Neighbors described the two as a nice couple who did things together, including riding bikes in the summer.
February 26, 2025: Justin Smith, Age 41, Milwaukee.
Justin Smith, 41, was fatally shot at a home near 47th and Stark. His brother, Brandon Smith, 50, was charged with first-degree intentional homicide. According to the criminal complaint, Brandon Smith believed his brother was monitoring him through his cellphone and planned to kill him, beliefs a woman at the residence told police were not factual. A blood-covered hammer was found near the victim’s body, and two firearms were recovered.
Brandon Smith made his initial court appearance on March 2, 2025, and was held on $150,000 cash bond. According to the End Abuse 2025 Homicide Report, a jury later found him guilty of first-degree reckless homicide with use of a dangerous weapon. The report adds that Brandon Smith believed his ex-wife was in a relationship with his brother, which their mother told police was not true.
March 2, 2025: Mary Laakso, Age 68, New Richmond.
Mary Laakso died at her home on Bluff Border Road in New Richmond on March 2, 2025. Her husband, Gordon Laakso, 70, was charged in St. Croix County with first-degree intentional homicide, strangulation and suffocation, and hiding a corpse after her body was found in rural Polk County. The medical examiner ruled her death a homicide.
Gordon Laakso pleaded not guilty to all counts at his arraignment in late March 2025, and the case remains pending in St. Croix County Circuit Court.
March 4, 2025: Kendrick Williams, Age 35, Milwaukee.
Kendrick Williams, 35, a father of two, was fatally stabbed on March 4, 2025 near 18th and Hopkins in Milwaukee. His uncle, Patrick Riley Jr., 62, was charged with first-degree reckless homicide. According to the criminal complaint, Riley told police he “blanked out” after his nephew slapped him, picked up a folding knife from a nearby table, and stabbed him once. He then asked a neighbor to call for help.
Riley made his initial court appearance on March 7, 2025, where cash bond was set at $150,000 and a competency examination was ordered. In March 2026 he pleaded guilty to an amended count of second-degree reckless homicide, and in June 2026 he was sentenced to 15 years in prison followed by 10 years of extended supervision.

March 4, 2025: Suzanne Gelinskey, Age 63, Caledonia.
Suzanne Gelinskey was killed in her home on East White Manor Court in Caledonia on March 4, 2025. Her 15-year-old son, Reed Gelinskey, was charged as an adult with first-degree intentional homicide. Prosecutors said she was stabbed five times and struck twice with a dumbbell. The teen surrendered to police when they arrived at the home.
Bond was set at $1 million. According to the complaint, the teen told police he had felt depressed and had planned the attack. In April 2026 he entered a plea of not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect, and a jury trial is set for February 15, 2027.
March 5, 2025: Carmen Haworth, Age 54, Hudson.
Carmen Haworth, 54, was found dead in her townhome on Namekagon Street in Hudson on March 5, 2025, after police conducted a welfare check. Her husband, Chad Haworth, 54, surrendered following a nearly five-hour standoff with police and was charged with first-degree intentional homicide in St. Croix County. Investigators said she died of stab wounds. According to the criminal complaint, Haworth told police he “snapped.”
Haworth was held on $1 million cash bond. In May 2025 he was found competent to stand trial and the case proceeded toward a preliminary hearing.

March 14, 2025: Unnamed Woman, Age 84, Hudson.
An 84-year-old woman was found dead of a gunshot wound in her Hudson home. Her husband of 64 years, also 84, was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and police records classify the incident as a murder-suicide. The UCR codes the circumstance as domestic violence and mercy killing.
No news coverage of the deaths was located, and neither spouse has been publicly named in the sources reviewed.
March 16, 2025: Unnamed Man, Age 44, Milwaukee.
A 44-year-old man, identified in the End Abuse report by the initials H.M. Jr., was shot multiple times on a Milwaukee street by his 28-year-old nephew while the two were walking with the nephew’s girlfriend. He died at a hospital less than an hour later. The nephew and his girlfriend fled to Madison, where she reported the shooting to police the next day, and Madison police arrested the nephew on a Greyhound bus before it left for Chicago.
The nephew was convicted of first-degree intentional homicide in February 2026 and sentenced to life in prison, with eligibility for extended supervision after 30 years.

March 17, 2025: John Stevenson, Age 48, Town of Corning.
John Stevenson, 48, was shot and killed in his home in the Town of Corning in Lincoln County on March 17, 2025. His son, Austin Stevenson, 25, of Merrill, was charged with first-degree intentional homicide and burglary. According to court documents, the son entered the house through an unlocked window, loaded a .22 rifle he found inside, waited for his father, and shot him when he came in. No motive was disclosed in court.
Austin Stevenson pleaded not guilty, and the case remains pending in Lincoln County.
March 21, 2025: Kelly Johnson, Age 61, St. Germain.
Kelly Johnson, 61, was found stabbed to death in St. Germain on March 21, 2025. Her brother, James Johnson, 56, was arrested the same day and charged in Vilas County with first-degree intentional homicide with use of a dangerous weapon. Investigators said she suffered approximately 30 stab wounds from a carving knife, and that Johnson told police he became angry with his sister over money and his car while he had been hospitalized.
Bond was set at $1 million. In October 2025 he changed his plea to not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect, and a jury trial is set for February 9, 2027.
March 29, 2025: Nicholas Velasquez, Age 40, Madison.
Nicholas Velasquez died after a stabbing at a residence on North Midvale Boulevard in Madison, where officers responded in the early morning hours. His 17-year-old son was involved in the incident. The Dane County Medical Examiner completed a forensic autopsy and identified Velasquez as the victim.
The Dane County District Attorney announced in early April that the teen would not face charges, citing self-defense as a major deciding factor.
March 29, 2025: Alexis Nelson, Age 42, Beaver Dam.
Alexis Nelson, 42, was last seen alive on March 29, 2025, captured on Kwik Trip video with her husband, Aaron Nelson, with cell records showing travel to Sun Prairie that day. The next day, he bought a trash bin in which her blood and DNA were later found, and within days he described himself online as widowed. Investigators also found blood evidence in a storage unit and documented cadaver-dog alerts in the couple’s apartment. Her mother reported her missing in fall 2025. Her body has not been found.
Aaron Nelson, 43, was arrested May 15, 2026, and charged with first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse. At his May 18 initial appearance, cash bail was set at $1 million, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 28, 2026.

April 6, 2025: Florencia Henthorn, Age 14, Evansville.
Florencia Henthorn, 14, died of a gunshot wound to the head on the morning of Sunday, April 6, 2025 in Evansville. She had been staying at the home of Hunter Drefahl for about a week before her death, and authorities said a dispute over sexual videos made with the girl preceded the shooting. Hunter Drefahl, 26, was charged with nine counts including contributing to the delinquency of a minor causing death, sexual exploitation of a child, child enticement, second-degree sexual assault of a child, and possession of child pornography. Alyssa Ahrens, 20, faced eight counts including contributing to the delinquency of a minor causing death and similar child exploitation charges.
Both were taken into custody within days of Florencia’s death, and the cases proceeded in Rock County.
April 8, 2025: Sam Nash, Age 71, Milwaukee.
Sam Nash, a 71-year-old military veteran, died in a fire at his apartment building near 30th and Capitol in Milwaukee on April 8, 2025. Rashamba Claybrooks, 28, who lived in the building, was charged with arson of a building, arson of property, disorderly conduct, and bail jumping, with domestic abuse assessments attached to several counts.
As of her initial charging, Claybrooks had not been charged directly in Nash’s death. Prosecutors said the investigation was ongoing regarding potential additional charges, and Nash’s sister publicly called for homicide charges.
April 13, 2025: Unnamed Man, Age 41, Green Bay.
A 41-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Green Bay in April 2025. His girlfriend, Tonia Piontek, 45, was charged in Brown County with first-degree intentional homicide with use of a dangerous weapon, with domestic abuse assessments. According to authorities, Piontek herself called 911, said she had stabbed her boyfriend, and asked for help.
She appeared in court by video from the Brown County Jail on April 29, 2025, and bond was set at $1 million cash. Plea negotiations were continuing as of April 2026, and the case remains pending in Brown County.
The victim has not been publicly named.
April 14, 2025: Heather Schoonover, Age 54, Blue Mounds.
Heather Schoonover, 54, was found dead of multiple stab wounds at a residence on Smokey Mountain Trail in Blue Mounds on April 14, 2025. Her daughter, Sierra Schoonover, 31, was charged with first-degree intentional homicide with domestic abuse and dangerous weapon enhancers. According to the complaint, she admitted to the stabbing, telling investigators she “might have gone crazy.”
Bond was set at $1 million, and a competency examination was ordered. She faces up to life in prison if convicted.
April 18, 2025: Amber Gray, Age 34, Milwaukee.
Amber Gray, 34, a mother of four, was fatally wounded during a domestic violence assault at an apartment near 15th and Cherry in Milwaukee on April 18, 2025. According to the criminal complaint, her partner, Ziare Dalton, 26, was assaulting her when her 17-year-old son intervened to protect her. The son fired a firearm in an attempt to stop the assault and struck his mother, who was not in his intended line of fire. A 911 call Gray placed during the assault captured her reporting that Dalton was hitting her and then her son, followed by approximately ten gunshots. Two other children, ages 9 and 11, were present in the home, and Dalton was also wounded. Gray died of her injuries four days later, on April 22.
Because prosecutors said the shooting happened as a direct result of Dalton’s attack, Dalton was charged with felony murder in her death. On January 22, 2026, a jury found him not guilty. Her son was not charged with homicide; he faced separate gun-related counts and later pleaded guilty in that case.
April 19, 2025: Unnamed Infant Girl, Age 2 Months, Milwaukee.
First responders were called on April 19 to a Milwaukee home where a two-month-old girl, identified in the End Abuse report by the initials J.T., was unresponsive. Her 19-year-old father said he had laid her on a bed after she was crying; her 20-year-old mother heard concerning noises from another room and found the baby limp. Doctors found severe head and neck injuries, and she was removed from life support and died on April 25. The autopsy concluded she was the victim of physical abuse and abusive head trauma, and that the father was the only person with the opportunity to inflict the injuries.
The father, who had a July 2024 conviction for felony strangulation and suffocation and disorderly conduct with domestic abuse assessments, was charged with first-degree reckless homicide. The case is pending.

May 4, 2025: Officer-Involved Shooting, Racine.
Late on the night of May 4, 2025, Racine police attempted to arrest a man wanted in connection with a violent domestic abuse assault that had occurred earlier that day. Police said the man tried to flee in a vehicle, crashed about half a block away near 17th and Franklin streets, and exited holding a handgun, which he began raising toward officers. An officer fired, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice led the investigation, with findings forwarded to the Racine County District Attorney’s Office for review. The officer, who was wearing a body camera, was placed on administrative leave per department policy.
May 5, 2025: Astrid Feliciano-Gonzalez, Age 30, Milwaukee.
Astrid Feliciano-Gonzalez was fatally shot on May 5, 2025, near 17th and Burnham in Milwaukee. Prosecutors charged Janice Ramos, 29, who shared a child with Feliciano-Gonzalez’s boyfriend of nearly three years; according to the criminal complaint, the shooting, carried out with a .45 caliber firearm, stemmed from jealousy over that relationship.
Ramos was taken into custody and charged with first-degree intentional homicide as a party to a crime, with use of a dangerous weapon. She initially denied being present but later admitted she was at the scene, claiming a friend committed the shooting and that she had only wanted to talk to the victim. According to the End Abuse 2025 Homicide Report, Ramos pleaded guilty to first-degree reckless homicide in April 2026.
May 6, 2025: Jalerian McDade, Age 17, Milwaukee.
Jalerian McDade, 17, was fatally shot on May 6, 2025, in a car near 39th and Cherry streets, close to Washington Park in Milwaukee. According to the criminal complaint, McDade met her boyfriend, 18-year-old Zamaury Waheed, in the vehicle, where the two argued over infidelity allegations. A witness heard McDade say “Boy, stop playing with me,” followed by a gunshot, then saw Waheed tuck a handgun into his waistband and flee.
Waheed was charged with second-degree reckless homicide by use of a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent, and authorities issued an arrest warrant for him.
May 6, 2025: Destiny Wright, Age 31, Milwaukee.
Destiny Wright, 31, died of gunshot wounds sustained during a domestic dispute in Milwaukee. According to a GoFundMe organized by her brother, she was shot in the neck by someone she believed loved her and died at the scene before help could arrive. Milwaukee police reported the fatal shooting at about 11:20 p.m. on May 6 near 73rd and Mill and said no suspects had been identified as the investigation continued.
Her family described her as funny, intelligent, loving, and caring. She was a caretaker for her mother, who has Guillain-Barre syndrome, and an entrepreneur.
May 8, 2025: Unnamed Woman, Age 61, Marshfield.
A 61-year-old Marshfield woman died on May 8, 2025, from injuries inflicted in an attack at her apartment on April 25. Police said Cyril Granahan, her downstairs neighbor, whom she had dated on and off since 2023, became violent in the early morning hours, pushing her down, stomping on her chest, threatening to break her neck, and sawing at the back of her neck with a steak knife. She was hospitalized with a large neck wound, bruising, and defensive wounds, underwent brain surgery for bleeding, and died days later. An autopsy preliminarily identified blunt force trauma to the head as the cause of death.
Granahan was charged with first-degree reckless homicide, physical abuse of an elder person, and disorderly conduct with an elder-victim penalty enhancer. Granahan, 60, pleaded no contest to first-degree reckless homicide on October 9, 2025 and was sentenced on December 15, 2025 to 25 years in prison followed by 10 years of extended supervision, plus restitution for funeral costs.
The victim has not been publicly named.
May 16, 2025: Unnamed Man, Age 28, Milwaukee.
A 28-year-old man, identified in the End Abuse report by the initials P.J., had been sending harassing messages to his 26-year-old ex-girlfriend. On the evening of May 16, he kicked in the door of her Milwaukee home armed with a gun and struck her in the head with it. As she ran, her new boyfriend, 26, who was present, shot him. He died at the scene.
The boyfriend turned himself in, and the homicide was determined to be self-defense; no charges were brought. Consistent with the Velasquez and Harris entries, the person killed is counted as a victim.

May 19, 2025: DV-Related Suicide, Milwaukee.
On the night of May 19, 2025, near 41st and Custer in Milwaukee, a 36-year-old woman was shot and seriously wounded in what police described as a domestic violence related shooting. She was taken to a hospital for treatment and survived.
The man responsible, 38, was found at the scene with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead. Milwaukee police said they were not seeking additional suspects.
May 19, 2025: Martha M. Woltman, Age 58, Hersey (St. Croix County).
Martha M. Woltman, 58, of Stillwater, Minnesota, was found dead of a gunshot wound on May 19, 2025, at a property in Hersey, Wisconsin, after her family requested a welfare check. Deputies also found Paul P. Hellem, 65, of Grand Marais, Minnesota, dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office ruled the deaths a murder-suicide; each had been shot once.
Minnesota court records showed Hellem faced a domestic assault by strangulation charge with Woltman as the victim, and Woltman had petitioned for a temporary protection order against him. The sheriff’s office said the two had been acquainted since 2018 but had never lived together.
May 22, 2025: DV-Related Suicide, Milwaukee.
On the afternoon of May 22, 2025, near 93rd and Carmen on Milwaukee’s north side, a 67-year-old person was shot during a domestic argument. The victim was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive.
The shooting escalated into a tactical situation as police responded. The person responsible was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
May 26, 2025: Unnamed Man, Age 48, Milwaukee.
A 48-year-old man, identified in the End Abuse report by the initials D.M., was shot and killed on May 26 when he and a woman he lived with knocked on a neighbor’s door after hearing a loud argument, to check whether the woman inside needed help. The neighbor’s partner, 30, with whom she shares children, appeared, told them to mind their own business, and shot them both. The woman who lived with the victim survived.
According to the complaint and court records described in the report, the shooter had a long history of violence toward his partner, including allegedly stabbing her on May 2, 2025, pointing a cocked handgun at her while she was pregnant in March 2024, a 2019 to 2023 domestic abuse injunction with a firearm restriction, and a 2023 strangulation conviction that prohibited him from possessing a firearm. He reportedly was not charged with homicide because of self-defense concerns, and the charges from the May 2 stabbing were dismissed in December 2025.

May 31, 2025: Aerion Winters, Age 49, Milwaukee.
Aerion Winters, 49, was fatally shot on May 31, 2025, at an apartment near 95th and Brown Deer in Milwaukee. According to the criminal complaint, he was retrieving belongings from the apartment of his wife, Doris Winters, 61, from whom he had been staying separately, when an argument broke out. Prosecutors said she retrieved a handgun, chambered a round, and shot him in the back as a witness tried to de-escalate. He died at the scene despite life-saving efforts.
Doris Winters told police, “so I just grabbed my gun and shot him because I’m just tired. I know I shouldn’t have shot him,” according to the complaint. She was charged with first-degree reckless homicide with use of a dangerous weapon and taken into custody.
June 16, 2025: Ashley Hudson, Age 30, Milwaukee.
Ashley Hudson, 30, was fatally shot on June 16, 2025, near Martin Luther King Drive and Vliet Street in Milwaukee, in an incident captured on Facebook Live. According to prosecutors, a family dispute escalated when two women, including Hudson’s sister, attacked her with a baseball bat. Hudson retrieved a knife and tried to escape to her car, and her 15-year-old brother, Hezile Frison, retrieved a gun and shot her at point-blank range as she backed away with her hands up.
Hezile Frison was charged as an adult with first-degree intentional homicide. He later pleaded guilty to an amended count of first-degree reckless homicide, and on September 25, 2026 he was sentenced to 20 years in prison followed by 10 years of extended supervision. Her sister Aaliyah Frison, 21, was charged with aggravated battery, and her mother, Tara Hudson, 48, with misdemeanor obstructing an officer.
June 17, 2025: Julia Cvicker, Age 25, Janesville.
Julia Cvicker, 25, was one of three people killed in a shooting on June 17, 2025, at the Aspen Square Apartments on North Pontiac Drive in Janesville. Police said the shooting stemmed from a domestic relationship: Jahvarius Wicks, 21, shot his ex-girlfriend, Haylee Lounsbury, who was hospitalized in critical condition and died days later, and killed her friend Julia Cvicker and Scott Roberts before dying by suicide.

Kimani Smith, 27, was fatally shot on the afternoon of June 18, 2025, near 42nd Street and Auer Avenue in Milwaukee. According to police, during an argument, Alyssa Ouradnik, 22, fired a self-inflicted gunshot that also struck Smith. Both died as a result. The two were in a dating relationship.

June 18, 2025: Brian Egerson, Age 36, Racine.
Brian Egerson, 36, was shot and killed on the 1400 block of Marquette Street in Racine by his cousin, Terrence Gardner, 27. According to the criminal complaint, an argument between the cousins began on the phone and continued in person on the street; after Egerson punched Gardner in the face, Gardner stumbled a few steps away and fired once. Gardner’s brother and mother witnessed the shooting from a nearby house and called 911, and Egerson later died at a hospital.
Gardner reported to police the following day and was charged with first-degree intentional homicide with use of a dangerous weapon. The case is pending.
June 23, 2025: Haylee R. Lounsbury, Age 21, Janesville.
Haylee R. Lounsbury, 21, died on June 23 from injuries she suffered in the June 17 shooting at the Aspen Square Apartments on North Pontiac Drive in Janesville. Police said the shooting stemmed from a domestic relationship. Her former boyfriend, 21-year-old Jahvarius Wicks, shot her along with Julia Cvicker, 25, and Scott Roberts, 55, before taking his own life.
Because the shooter died, no criminal charges were filed. The Janesville Police Department investigated the case as a murder-suicide.
June 23, 2025: Leo Escalante, Age 2, Green Bay.
Two-year-old Leo Escalante was fatally injured on June 22 at a Green Bay home while in the care of James Vanderleest, 21, his mother’s ex-boyfriend. He was flown to Children’s Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where he died on June 23, according to his obituary. Investigators said medical evidence of blunt force trauma was inconsistent with Vanderleest’s account that the child fell down stairs.
Vanderleest was arrested at a cabin in Florence County and charged with first-degree reckless homicide, to which he pleaded not guilty. His bond was set at $2 million, and a judge later refused to reduce it. His father, David Vanderleest, was separately charged with harboring or aiding a felon and obstructing an officer.
June 26, 2025: Officer Kendall Corder, Age 32, Milwaukee.
Milwaukee Police Officer Kendall Corder, 32, was shot on June 26 while responding with his partner to a domestic violence call about a subject with a gun near North 25th Street and West Garfield Avenue. The officers were ambushed and shot in an alley before either could return fire. Officer Corder, a six-year veteran of the department, died of his injuries on June 29. His partner, Officer Christopher McCray, 29, was wounded and survived.
A 22-year-old suspect, identified as Tremaine Jones, was arrested at the scene. According to the End Abuse 2025 Homicide Report, Jones was sentenced to life in prison for first-degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree recklessly endangering safety, and possession of a short-barreled shotgun or rifle.
June 29, 2025: Josh Pigney, Age 37, Holmen.
Josh Pigney, 37, was found dead in his home on Granum Street in Holmen on Sunday, June 29, 2025. An autopsy determined he died of strangulation and blunt force trauma. Jacob Klaver, 38, of Winona, Minnesota, the ex-boyfriend of Pigney’s girlfriend, was arrested within days and jailed in La Crosse County.
Klaver was charged with first-degree intentional homicide, held on $1 million cash bond, and pleaded not guilty on August 14, 2025.
July 2, 2025: Corey Williams, Age 47, Milwaukee.
Corey Williams, 47, was shot multiple times on the afternoon of July 2 near 11th and Atkinson in Milwaukee. Prosecutors charged his 18-year-old son, Corey Williams Jr., with second-degree reckless homicide with use of a dangerous weapon.
At a court appearance on July 7, cash bond was set at $10,000 and a preliminary hearing was scheduled. The son’s attorney said the shooting followed a confrontation and referenced prior abuse; relatives told investigators they did not see either man with a firearm. The younger Williams had no prior criminal record.
July 3, 2025: Victoria Truss, Age 34, Shorewood.
Victoria Truss, a mother of a 14-year-old son, was shot and killed early on July 3 near Bartlett and Wood in Shorewood by her boyfriend, Michael Griffin, 34, who had moved in with her about a month earlier. Her landlord, who lived in the same building, was shot and wounded, and a responding Shorewood police officer was struck by a round that his protective vest stopped.
Griffin fled by vehicle later that morning and fired at officers during a pursuit into Milwaukee, where multiple officers returned fire and fatally shot him near 6th and Reservoir; in January 2026 the district attorney ruled the officers’ use of force justified. Loved ones held a vigil for Truss, remembering her as a mother, sister, daughter and friend.
July 4, 2025: Unnamed Woman, Age 33, Lake Delton.
A 33-year-old woman was found dead on July 4 at a residence in the 300 block of Canyon Road in Lake Delton. Brandon Bent, 23, who lived with her, was charged with first-degree intentional homicide and misdemeanor bail jumping, with domestic abuse modifiers attached to the charges.
A judge found probable cause after Bent waived his preliminary hearing, and bond was set at $1 million. A ten-day jury trial is scheduled to begin March 8, 2027. Bent is not a lawful U.S. resident and is subject to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold, with bond conditions barring him from leaving Wisconsin except in ICE custody.

Dale Shulfer, 53, was shot and killed on July 6 at his rural Portage County home on Krogwold Road, along with his wife, Paula. The couple’s son, John Shulfer, 35, admitted to shooting them both with a firearm and was wounded by a deputy during the law enforcement response.
He faces two counts of first-degree intentional homicide with use of a dangerous weapon and domestic abuse modifiers, two counts of causing mental harm to a child, and three counts of possession of a firearm by a felon. After treatment to restore competency, he was found competent in July 2026 and pleaded not guilty; a jury trial is set for March 2027.
July 7, 2025: David Pabst, Age 64, Middleton.
David Pabst, a bureau director with the Wisconsin State Patrol, was fatally shot along with his wife, Teresa, at their home in the Town of Middleton on the night of July 7. Investigators determined their son, James Pabst, 25, shot both parents with a handgun he had lawfully purchased.
James Pabst died by suicide on July 8 during a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 14 in Vernon County. The sheriff said the matter is no longer a criminal investigation, and authorities focused on providing answers and closure to surviving family.
July 7, 2025: Teresa Pabst, Age 64, Middleton.
Teresa Pabst, known as Teri, was shot and killed at her Town of Middleton home on the night of July 7, along with her husband, David, a Wisconsin State Patrol bureau director. Authorities said the couple’s son, James Pabst, 25, shot his parents with a lawfully purchased handgun.

A 48-year-old man died by suicide after jumping from a hotel balcony in Milwaukee as police were responding to the hotel room where he and his girlfriend were staying. Police had been told he was strangling his girlfriend and threatening to kill her.

A 38-year-old man, identified in the End Abuse report by the initials D.J., was shot and killed by his girlfriend’s 53-year-old father during a domestic violence incident. The couple’s child had called the grandfather for help, and he came to his daughter’s defense.
Law enforcement considered the shooting self-defense of another, and no charges were issued. Consistent with the Velasquez and Harris entries, the person killed is counted as a victim.

July 10, 2025: Ralph Taylor III, Age 4, Milwaukee.
Four-year-old Ralph Taylor III was fatally shot on July 10 at an apartment near 75th and Northridge Lakes in Milwaukee. His father, Ralph Taylor, 35, initially claimed the shot came through an open window from outside, but evidence showed he had kept a loaded 9mm handgun under a pillow while his son jumped on a mattress. The boy died despite lifesaving efforts.
Taylor was charged with first-degree intentional homicide and being a felon in possession of a firearm. A jury convicted him on both counts in March 2026, and in April 2026 he was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of extended supervision. July 23, 2025: Charmeka Flowers, Age 48, Racine.
Charmeka Flowers, 48, a mother of six, was shot multiple times on July 22 near Reschke and Prospect in Racine by Johnny Williams, 51, with whom she shared a 7-year-old son. After the shooting, Williams barricaded himself inside a residence, and crisis negotiators attempted contact during an extended standoff. When SWAT officers entered around 6:30 p.m., they found him with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Both were airlifted to hospitals and died of their injuries. Because Williams died, there will be no criminal prosecution. A fund was established to support Flowers’ six children.
August 13, 2025: De-Lisha Dunmore, Age 23, Milwaukee.
De-Lisha Dunmore, 23, was found fatally shot in the driver’s seat of an SUV that had crashed into a tree near 42nd and Hope in Milwaukee on August 13, 2025. Investigators recovered multiple 9mm cartridges at the scene, and surveillance video showed a man exiting the rear passenger door of the vehicle after the shooting.
Her boyfriend, Davante Howard, 30, was arrested September 5 and charged with first-degree reckless homicide and possession of a firearm by a felon. Dunmore’s family said she had been dating Howard, whom they knew only by his first name. He was held on $500,000 cash bond.
August 13, 2025: Rayne Taylor, Age 10 months, Milwaukee.
Ten-month-old Rayne Taylor was found dead in her mother’s Milwaukee apartment on August 13, 2025, after police responded to a neighbor’s complaint about a foul odor. Officers discovered the infant’s decomposing body in a cardboard box inside a locked bedroom. She had been dead for a considerable time; the medical examiner listed the cause of death as undetermined but documented evidence of blunt force trauma to her head.
Her mother, Shyanna Brothers, 28, initially told officers the smell came from old food before directing them to the bedroom. Her 15-year-old grandson, Edward Barbara, called 911 and initially claimed she had suffered a seizure, but the medical examiner found hemorrhages and fractures showing evidence of strangulation. Prosecutors allege the teen later admitted to strangling his grandmother for roughly five minutes, and court filings state she had told her husband about two months earlier that the boy had choked her unconscious.
He was charged as an adult with first-degree intentional homicide, made his first adult court appearance on September 8, 2025, and was held on $100,000 bond. He was found not competent to stand trial in January 2026, but that finding was reversed in August 2026 and the case is pending.

Jacob Socha, 31, was shot on September 14, 2025, at a residence on the 400 block of Lazy Creek Way in Wausau. He died of his injuries five days later, on September 19. His roommate, Dustin Stinson, 34, was arrested the evening of the shooting.
Stinson faces 10 counts, including first-degree intentional homicide and illegal possession of a firearm. On October 9, 2025, his cash bond was set at $1 million, and the case was proceeding through Marathon County court.
September 21, 2025: Azoria Jones, Age 15, Milwaukee.
Azoria Jones, 15, was fatally shot in the chest around 10:20 p.m. on September 21, 2025, near 75th Street and Silver Spring Drive in Milwaukee. She died at the scene. Video from a transit bus captured the shooting, and witnesses reported hearing gunfire followed by screaming.
Her boyfriend, Javier Smith, 17, changed his account several times before admitting to shooting Jones, which he claimed was accidental. The criminal complaint notes he had pointed a gun at her the previous month while threatening her aunt. The shooter, Kirk Dunn, 20, was dating a woman who had previously been involved with Owens, though she described her connection to Owens as friendship. Dunn claimed he fired defensively after seeing a laser sight pointed at him when he opened the apartment door.
An autopsy showed Owens was struck three times, with wounds to his rib and lung, his liver and aorta, and his calf. Dunn was charged on September 26 with first-degree intentional homicide and recklessly endangering safety, and was held on $500,000 cash bond.
September 29, 2025: Jaquveon Wright, Age 18, Milwaukee.
Jaquveon Wright, 18, was stabbed to death on September 29, 2025, near 22nd and National in Milwaukee following an argument with his cousin over help getting a job at a restaurant. According to the criminal complaint, Rae’Jianna Hall, 19, pepper-sprayed Wright, and during an altercation in her bedroom raised a knife over her head and stabbed him in the neck. He died at the scene.
Hall called 911 herself and admitted to the stabbing, which she described as self-defense and an accident. She was charged with one count of first-degree reckless homicide and held on $100,000 cash bond.

September 29, 2025: Kamonti McFarlane, Age 45, Glendale.
Kamonti McFarlane, 45, a dental hygienist and mother of three, was shot and killed on September 29, 2025, outside her home near Custer Avenue and Shasta Drive in Glendale. Surveillance footage showed a man emerge from a side yard, chase her into her front yard, pull her to the ground, and kill her with a single gunshot.
Demonta Hambright, 42, described by prosecutors as her former boyfriend, was charged with first-degree intentional homicide and possessing a firearm as a felon. Investigators documented prior abuse, including instances of Hambright choking McFarlane and recorded threats against her life. He was arrested in southern Indiana after a pursuit and crash and awaited extradition to Wisconsin.
October 1, 2025: Tyler Sadowski, Age 20, Barron.
Tyler Sadowski, 20, was shot and killed on October 1, 2025, at a home in Barron when he came to check on his pregnant 17-year-old sister after she was shot by her boyfriend, Marcus Hinojosa, 17. Sadowski was killed while trying to protect his sister, who survived being shot in the stomach; her baby was delivered prematurely and was expected to survive.
Hinojosa posted video of the attack on Snapchat and later died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, so no criminal case will proceed. The Barron County Sheriff’s Office investigated the shootings.

A 17-year-old opened fire at a Barron home on October 1, 2025, shooting his pregnant 17-year-old girlfriend in the stomach and killing her 20-year-old brother, who was trying to protect her and whose death is remembered in a separate entry. The shooter posted video of the attack on Snapchat, then died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound; authorities worked with the platform to remove the video.
The young woman survived the shooting. Her baby boy was delivered two months premature, weighing 2 pounds 5 ounces, and was expected to survive.
October 6, 2025: Rachel Dumovich, Age 29, Sharon (killed in Harvard, Illinois).
Rachel Dumovich, 29, of Sharon, Wisconsin, was found dead late on October 6, 2025, alongside her husband, Brandon Dumovich, 30, in their car near North Division and Burbank streets in Harvard, Illinois. A Harvard officer on patrol spotted the vehicle at 11:52 p.m. with its hazard lights on in the northbound lane of Route 14, pointed toward Sharon, about seven miles north just across the state line. Both had died of gunshot wounds to the head, and a firearm was recovered inside the vehicle. On November 13, 2025, investigators ruled the deaths a murder-suicide, concluding that Brandon fatally shot Rachel before taking his own life.
The couple met in middle school, dated since 2022, and married October 12, 2024; they died six days before their first wedding anniversary. October 16, 2025: Officer-Involved Shooting, Wautoma.
On October 16, 2025, deputies responded to a report of domestic violence at a home on State Highway 73 in the Town of Wautoma. A man at the residence fired at a Waushara County sheriff’s deputy, who returned fire. The man then barricaded himself inside the house and was found dead after officers heard gunshots from within; the Wisconsin Department of Justice said he was likely struck by the deputy’s shots.
The Wisconsin DOJ’s Division of Criminal Investigation reviewed the shooting, and the Waushara County District Attorney determined the deputy’s use of force was justified. No criminal charges were filed against law enforcement.
October 18, 2025: Shaquille Madison, Age 33, Milwaukee.
Shaquille Madison, 33, was shot and killed early on October 18, 2025, during an overnight poker game at a home near Appleton Avenue and Ruby Avenue in Milwaukee. His cousin, Donovan Jones, 35, told police the players had become suspicious after the power briefly went out and that a masked person with a rifle had come in; Jones said he hid under the stairs and fired at a silhouette in the basement. Madison was found in front of the home and died at a hospital. Dwayne Carter, 43, was also killed.
Jones, who called 911 himself, was charged with two counts of first-degree reckless homicide. According to the End Abuse 2025 Homicide Report, a jury trial is scheduled for November 2026.
October 18, 2025: Dwayne Carter, Age 43, Milwaukee.
Dwayne Carter, 43, was shot and killed in the basement of a home near Appleton Avenue and Ruby Avenue in Milwaukee during the same overnight poker game in which Shaquille Madison was killed. According to the criminal complaint, Carter had gone outside and come back in saying someone was trying to rob them, and a witness described a masked person with an AK-47-style rifle entering the home. Police recovered nine spent 9mm casings that a preliminary review linked to Donovan Jones’s pistol.
Jones, Madison’s cousin, was charged with two counts of first-degree reckless homicide. Carter is counted because he was killed in the same family violence incident.
October 18, 2025: Dante Campbell, Age 4, West Allis.
Four-year-old Dante Campbell was found unresponsive on October 18, 2025, at a Dairy Queen near 108th and Greenfield in West Allis. He was taken to Children’s Wisconsin, where he died. Court documents described extensive bruising across his face, neck, torso, and limbs; a West Allis police sergeant called them the most severe injuries he had seen in 14 years of service. Dante’s siblings told investigators that his father would make the children stand on Legos and strike them, and that his mother did not intervene.
Dante’s father, Devario Cruz, 21, who shares Dante and his twin sister with Charlotte Kurek, 31, was charged with physical abuse of a child (repeated acts causing death), first-degree reckless homicide, chronic neglect of a child causing death, and abuse and neglect counts involving Dante’s twin sister. He pleaded not guilty and the case is pending. Kurek was charged with chronic neglect of a child causing death and a second chronic neglect count; in August 2026 she pleaded guilty, with sentencing set for September 29, 2026. The two initially claimed the boy had fallen down stairs. Police also found firearms and more than a pound of marijuana in the apartment, and Cruz had a prior 2022 conviction for misdemeanor sexual assault of a child.

According to the criminal complaint, Martell Haire, 37, had been arguing with a woman at the home, and after she told him to leave he walked into the kitchen with a gun and opened fire on the young people sitting at the table. Champion died at the scene, and a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old were wounded. According to the End Abuse 2025 Homicide Report, the woman was Haire’s girlfriend, and he tried to shoot her but ran out of ammunition.
Haire was charged with first-degree reckless homicide, two counts of first-degree reckless injury, first-degree recklessly endangering safety, and possession of a firearm by a felon. He fled Wisconsin, was arrested in Oklahoma in November 2025, and was returned to the Milwaukee County Jail.
October 22, 2025: Oakley Taylor Nardi, Age 5, Merrill.
Oakley Taylor Nardi, 5, drowned on October 22, 2025, after being left alone in a bathtub for about five minutes at the family’s home in Merrill while her mother looked for pajamas. Oakley had epilepsy, her prescribed seizure medication had not been administered, and medical professionals had warned multiple times that leaving her unattended in water could be fatal.
Her mother, Katelyn Nardi, 27, was charged March 23, 2026, in Lincoln County with first-degree reckless homicide and neglecting a child resulting in death, was held on $150,000 cash bond, and pleaded not guilty. A week-long jury trial is set to begin June 28, 2027. A prior infant daughter, Ensley, 5 months old, died in her sleep in Nardi’s care in February 2023, a history the prosecution has cited.
October 26, 2025: Officer-Involved Shooting, Fort Atkinson.
On October 26, 2025, Fort Atkinson police responded to a shots-fired complaint at a residence after a neighbor reported that a 22-year-old man had pointed a pistol at his mother’s head during an argument in the driveway and then retrieved a rifle from the home. A Fort Atkinson police officer shot and killed the man during the response. His mother, who had been threatened with the firearm, survived.
On December 12, 2025, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office announced that the officers’ actions were lawful and reasonable acts of self-defense, and no criminal charges were filed.
October 31, 2025: Randall E. Harris Sr., Age 56, Wisconsin Rapids.
Randall E. Harris Sr., 56, was found dead on October 31, 2025, at a home on 11th Street South in Wisconsin Rapids. Autopsy results released by police showed he died of multiple gunshot wounds along with injuries from an edged weapon.
His son, Randall E. Harris Jr., 34, was arrested and charged with first-degree intentional homicide. According to the End Abuse 2025 Homicide Report, Harris Jr., who was visiting from out of town, testified that he acted in self-defense after his father attempted to fire a gun at him, and a jury found him not guilty.
November 2, 2025: Unnamed Woman, Age 68, Milwaukee.
A 68-year-old woman, identified in the End Abuse report by the initials S.R., died at her Milwaukee home of blunt force injuries. Investigators found discrepancies between her son’s explanation of events and the evidence, and homicide charges were referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office, where the case is under review.

November 5, 2025: Da’Quarius Berry, Age 3, Milwaukee.
Da’Quarius Berry, 3, died on the morning of November 6, 2025, at a home on the 3200 block of North 29th Street in Milwaukee. According to the criminal complaints, his mother left her five children home alone late on November 5 to pick up her boyfriend, and the two spent the early morning hours at the bar where she worked before returning home. That morning she took the four older children to the school bus, leaving Da’Quarius with her boyfriend, who said he was the only adult home. She returned to find him unresponsive with foamy mucus in his mouth, and he was pronounced dead at Children’s Wisconsin. The medical examiner found a large abdominal hemorrhage caused by non-accidental blunt force trauma.
His mother, Zaquitta Joiner-Murphy, 34, was charged in November 2025 with child neglect resulting in death and held on $50,000 bond. In September 2026, her boyfriend, Marcus Glenn Jenkins, 34, was charged with first-degree reckless homicide and neglecting a child resulting in death, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
November 5, 2025: Unnamed Woman, Age 85, Wausau.
An 85-year-old woman and her 86-year-old husband were found dead of gunshot wounds in their wheelchairs in the bathroom of their assisted living apartment in Wausau. It appeared the husband shot his wife and then himself. Paperwork about their trust and final wishes, benefits, medical test results, and funeral arrangement costs was found laid out on the bed. The UCR codes the circumstance as a mercy killing.
No news coverage located, and neither spouse has been publicly named in the sources reviewed.
November 7, 2025: Unnamed Man, Age 50, Milwaukee.
A 50-year-old man, identified in the End Abuse report by the initials L.W., was stabbed and killed by his wife, who acted in self-defense according to reportage and the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office. Consistent with the Velasquez and Harris entries, the person killed is counted as a victim.

November 10, 2025: Joyce Lee Bongo, Age 37, Racine.
Joyce Lee Bongo, 37, died on November 10, 2025, at a home near 17th and Holmes in Racine after suffering significant facial bruising and other injuries in what investigators described as a domestic altercation. Her boyfriend, Benjamin Chipps, 46, of Wanblee, South Dakota, had recently moved into the home. Investigators noted blood staining in the bedroom, defensive-type wounds on Chipps, and conflicting accounts he gave about how Bongo was injured.
Chipps was charged with first-degree intentional homicide. At his initial court appearance on November 12, 2025, cash bond was set at $750,000. He was also on federal probation out of South Dakota and listed as an absconder at the time.
November 13, 2025: Miguel Arocho, Age 49, Milwaukee.
Miguel Arocho, 49, was fatally shot on November 13, 2025, in a gangway near 16th and Rogers on Milwaukee’s south side. His son, Miguel Ocasio, 28, told investigators he fired in self-defense because his father threatened him, but later said he did not see anything in his father’s hands. Six spent 9mm cartridges were recovered at the scene. According to the End Abuse 2025 Homicide Report, Arocho was shot when he intervened in an argument between Ocasio and Ocasio’s ex-girlfriend, who is Arocho’s stepdaughter.
Ocasio was charged with first-degree reckless homicide. At his initial appearance on November 18, 2025, cash bond was set at $100,000. He later pleaded guilty to second-degree reckless homicide, with sentencing scheduled for October 2026.
November 13, 2025: Alexis Pickett, Age 27, La Crosse.
Alexis Pickett, 27, who was pregnant, died in a house fire at a La Crosse residence on November 13, 2025. Her unborn child also died. Pickett and Matthew Sierra, of Genoa, had been involved in child support litigation dating back to April 2023.
Sierra was arrested on the morning of December 16, 2025, and charged with first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree intentional homicide of an unborn child, and arson of a building without the owner’s consent.
November 21, 2025: Jeffrey Graverson, Age 56, Woodville.
Jeffrey Graverson, 56, was shot and killed on November 21, 2025, at a rural home on McHugh Road in the Town of Woodville in Calumet County. His son, Ethan Graverson, 22, shot him at least five times with a 9mm pistol during an argument, then called police himself to report the shooting. According to the criminal complaint, Ethan described years of mental abuse and said his father had told him to put down the gun and fight man to man before he fired.
Ethan Graverson was charged with first-degree intentional homicide, which carries a mandatory life sentence upon conviction. At his initial appearance on November 24, 2025, cash bond was set at $1 million.
The family held a small, private funeral.
November 26, 2025: Ramon Olivares-Rodriguez, Age 43, Milwaukee.
Ramon Olivares-Rodriguez, 43, was fatally shot on November 26, 2025, near Burnham and Winona in Milwaukee, suffering two gunshot wounds to the chest. Prosecutors allege that Hermelindo Martinez-Perez, 48, shot him after learning that Olivares-Rodriguez was having an affair with his wife, who had refused to end the relationship when confronted.
Martinez-Perez was arrested on December 12, 2025, and charged with first-degree reckless homicide with use of a dangerous weapon, along with a disorderly conduct count tied to a prior domestic abuse incident. Investigators cited surveillance video, license plate reader data, and cell phone records placing him near the scene.
December 5, 2025: Jeremiah Beauprey, Age 12, Fond du Lac.
Jeremiah, who had Duchenne muscular dystrophy and used a wheelchair, died December 5, 2025 after being brought to SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. An autopsy determined he died of starvation ketoacidosis; he weighed 56 pounds at his death, down from about 80 pounds when he was placed in foster care in May 2024. He had been returned to his mother’s care in November 2024.
His mother, Tina Beauprey, 51, was arrested January 23, 2026 and charged with child neglect causing death. Prosecutors allege she failed to provide food and medical care; she claimed he died of his terminal illness. She is being held on $500,000 bond and has been bound over for trial.
December 7, 2025: Kia Her, Age 41, Milwaukee.
Kia Her, 41, was shot and killed around 3:30 a.m. on December 7, 2025, near 78th and Silver Spring in Milwaukee. Police said her partner, Chang Thao, 45, shot her in the head during an argument and then turned the gun on himself. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office classified the deaths as a suspected murder-suicide.
Her child was present and witnessed the shooting.

December 10, 2025: Arianna N. Fobes, Age 25, Beloit.
Shots were fired at a residence in the 1900 block of Colony Court around 5:30 p.m. on December 10. Arianna died at a local hospital. Police called it an isolated incident and identified a person of interest, reported to be her boyfriend, who fled to Illinois.
On December 16, after an attempted traffic stop in Princeton, Illinois and a chase on I-80, he was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a rest area. Because he died, he was never charged or publicly named. A GoFundMe was created for Arianna’s daughters.
December 16, 2025: DV-Related Suicide, Waukesha.
On December 16, 2025, a Waukesha man died by suicide as police responded to a domestic violence related incident. According to the End Abuse 2025 Homicide Report, a woman who had run to a neighbor’s house for safety called police to report that a man had beaten her and threatened her with a gun. Officers broke a window to send in a drone and found the man, 73, dead with a gun in his lap.

December 20, 2025: Tamie Borgwardt, Age 53, Town of Magnolia (Rock County).
Rock County deputies conducting a welfare check on December 26 found Tamie and her husband dead inside their home in the 2300 block of N. Marsh Road. The sheriff’s office said evidence showed a violent act occurred between the two and ruled out the involvement of any third party, consistent with a murder-suicide. The UCR records the incident date as December 20, meaning the couple may not have been found for several days, and codes the husband as the offender with a domestic violence circumstance.
Officials never publicly stated who shot whom. The End Abuse 2025 Homicide Report states that her 54-year-old husband shot and killed her and then took his own life, both by firearm.
Cold Case Developments in 2025
April 11, 2016: Sabrina Radford, Shawano. (Husband charged April 2025)
Sabrina Radford was fatally shot in the chest at her Shawano County home on April 11, 2016. Her death was initially ruled a suicide. Nine years later, on April 11, 2025, prosecutors charged her husband, James Radford, 39, with first-degree reckless homicide with use of a dangerous weapon after a review of the evidence contradicted his account, including hand positioning inconsistent with the gun’s operation, a lack of forensic residue on the weapon, and threatening text messages he had sent.
Radford was booked into the Shawano County Jail on April 15, 2025, with cash bond set at $800,000, and the case remains pending.
1983 Cold Case: Starkie Swenson, Neenah. (Legislative development August 2025)
Starkie Swenson disappeared in 1983 after being run over and killed by John C. Andrews amid a love triangle dispute. Andrews concealed Swenson’s body at High Cliff State Park in Calumet County. He was not charged until 1992, when, with the body still missing, he was convicted of homicide by negligent use of a vehicle and sentenced to two years in prison. Swenson’s remains were finally discovered in the park in 2021, when a visitor spotted a bone protruding from the ground.
In 2025 the case drove new legislation. Prosecutors had tried to charge Andrews with hiding a corpse after the remains were found, but the case was dismissed under Wisconsin’s six-year statute of limitations. Rep. Ron Tusler introduced a bill, discussed in August 2025 and later filed as Assembly Bill 422, to start the limitations clock when a hidden body is discovered rather than when the person goes missing, so cases like Swenson’s could still be prosecuted.
